Apollo Home Healthcare
Who are Apollo Home Healthcare?
Apollo Home Healthcare was established in 2014 and provides a complex home healthcare service for individuals with long term or life limiting conditions. With headquarters in Wolverhampton, they operate through local operational hubs across the UK and work in partnership with integrated care boards, case managers, local authorities and private clients.

What was the brief?
Apollo Home Healthcare approached us in February 2024 to see if we could partner with them to design and deliver a people management programme for 12 of their talented future leaders. The need for this learning came about via feedback from a staff survey.
Our brief was to create an engaging and interactive programme with an emphasis on practical application. It was also essential that the learning was facilitated in modules several weeks apart to allow time for reflection and application.
Our Solution:
We worked closely with Laura, Michelle and Amanda to learn more about Apollo’s culture and identify which content would be the most relevant. We then set to work designing the programme.
The programme consisted of ten modules, focusing on a series of themes which ranged from creating a high-performance culture, recruiting and retaining talent, leading through change and coaching skills, to name but a few.
For some of the learners, this programme took them out of their comfort zone but each individual opened themselves up to the learning, trusted the people in the room and took full advantage of the investment in their personal development.
As well as the facilitated modules, each learner took part in an individual coaching session halfway through the programme to reflect on their learning to date and set their focus on the learning to come.
The programme concluded with some presentations to the senior leadership team. As well as presenting on their individual learning outcomes, the learners were divided into three teams and tasked with researching a live challenge facing the business.
Observing these future leaders present their ideas with such confidence and passion was inspiring to say the least and something that nobody in the room will forget in a hurry.
Below are some quotes that the learners were kind enough to share about their experience:
“I have really enjoyed the interactive nature of the course and the group discussions. These discussions have encouraged thoughtful conversations and provided opportunities to put what we’ve learned into practice”
“I am very grateful to have had this opportunity and I’ve been keen not to waste it. As a student I was never the most confident to stand up and present or shout out answers, but I’ve got out of my own headspace and pushed myself to be an active participant. It’s been a very fulfilling process for me both personally and professionally”
“The thing I have enjoyed most is that the programme itself is motivating. Lou makes it interactive and not boring. The other learners in the group are all respectful of other people’s opinions or comments and it’s not death by power point. There hasn’t been a session that I have found boring”

“In April 2025, our first leadership course concluded, a moment that Michelle Flynn and I were immensely proud of. Participants benefited significantly from the insights on management and leadership, fostering personal growth and team cohesion.
Witnessing colleagues from various departments collaborate to address business challenges and devise impactful solutions was truly inspiring”
