Sales Coaching

‘People don’t like being sold to, but they do like having their problems solved for them’.

If you can relate to this and are passionate about adding value rather than simply hitting your numbers, then an investment in sales coaching is well worth considering.

Whether you are looking to create a sales structure, hone your questioning skills, refine how you communicate your service offering or equip yourself to welcome and manage objections, our tailored approach and return on investment guarantee will ensure you have everything you need to succeed.

Benefits of sales coaching:

Sales coaching enables you to focus on your specific requirements, whether that be looking to build a pipeline of new prospects or managing an existing client portfolio. So how will we support you with your unique challenges and opportunities?

At Donovan Training Associates, we:

  • Take the time to understand you, your business and your marketplace, enabling us to tailor the sales coaching to your specific needs
  • Ask pertinent and thought-provoking questions to enable you to think and create your own ideas for success
  • Offer direction and when requested, advice, from a non-judgmental perspective
  • Help you to build genuine long-lasting connections with your customers, fostering trust and loyalty
  • Work with you to create a bespoke framework for a consistent and repeatable sales blueprint
  • Support you in building a coaching culture with your team, ensuring you are not relying on one single point of success.
  • Hold you to account, ensuring you take action and avoid procrastinating

Who benefits from sales coaching?

Sales coaching can be extremely helpful, regardless of which stage of your sales career you are operating in. Here are some of the more common reasons why sales professionals invest in sales coaching:
  • The elementary stage – You are new to selling and are looking for a structure to build some confidence and momentum.
  • The stuck in a rut stage – You are starting to feel like you are using the same questions and approach without getting the results you used to. It is time for a fresh perspective and some new ideas.
  • The taking it to the next level stage – The relationships you are developing are moving beyond transactional into a strategic phase. The sales cycle has become longer and a nurturing approach is required to build respect and rapport with different stakeholders.
  • The sales leadership phase – You have been promoted from a single contributor to a leader of others and you are now responsible for the sales performance of others, not just yourself.
  • The business owner phase – You have started a business and are an expert in your field but now need to start attracting customers.

Regardless of where you are in your sales journey, our coaching can provide you with an external perspective and the support you need to move to build confidence and achieve the results you are looking for.

Our approach to Sales Coaching:

We work on the basis that you should be looking for a minimum of three times a return on your investment. Otherwise, sales coaching becomes an intangible luxury or simply ‘a nice chat’. Please see our FAQ section below for more information on our guarantees.

  • Our first session will focus on establishing what your sales goals are and what good looks like once your coaching has been put into practice.
  • A 90-day plan will then be generated, focusing on value-based goals to be achieved within that time period.
  • Once your targets have been met, another plan will be drawn up and so on…

Together we will agree a regular time slot to either speak via phone, Zoom or Teams whichever is your preference. Speaking remotely ensures flexibility for you and committing to regular time slots enables you to schedule your coaching sessions ahead of time.

How does the coaching work in practice?

The sales coaching process follows three simple steps:
We will contact you to book in your initial free (no obligation) 60-minute consultation
During this call you will explore what you need specific help with to establish a worthwhile return on your investment
The coaching itself can either be provided remotely, or in person at our Oxfordshire offices.

Maximising a return on your investment

It is important to stress here that you are investing in the outcome of the sales coaching as opposed to the hourly rate of your session. To this end, our guarantee to you is that if you have not achieved a minimum of three times the return on your investment within six months, then any future coaching is free of charge until this is achieved.

The caveat to this, as you would expect, is that this is conditional on you following up on any agreed actions from your coaching sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How does sales training differ from sales coaching?

Sales training is knowledge focused; think products, customers, strategies, competitors, etc… whereas sales coaching is mindset and behaviour focused.

Sales coaching uses this knowledge to help drive results. This means that impactful sales coaching is personalised and tailored to the skills and needs of you as an individual

Is there a minimum contract period?

No. We simply ask for one month's notice in writing if you decide you no longer wish to continue.

How long does each coaching session last?

Each coaching session typically lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.

It is important to remember, however, that you are investing in the learnings and outputs of the session, not the amount of time somebody is speaking with you.
