Sales Management Training:
The success of a sales team can often be directly attributed to the relationship between the sales consultants and the management team. Those who feel genuinely supported enjoy their role more, have greater energy and passion for their role, and this positive energy ultimately comes across in their discussions with potential leads. We’ve all heard the expression “people buy people”, and so if your management techniques are not as strong as they could be, they could inadvertently be having a knock-on effect on the success of your team. Our sales management training is designed to provide you with access to a wide range of skills, knowledge and tools which enable you to become a more inspirational and motivational sales leader.
Whether it be improving your general management skills, understanding how to create effective SMART objectives, or learning how to deal with challenging discussions around staff performance, our sales management training can be tailored to your specific needs enabling you to maximise the effectiveness and ROI of the training.Sales Management Training Tailored Specifically for Your Needs
At Donovan Training Associates, we recognise that truly effective training goes beyond a one-size-fits-all model. As such, our sales management training is tailored to be 100% bespoke to you and the needs of your organisation. In addition, we hone in on your goals or ambitions for individual delegates so that our training is not just specific for your organisation, but specific for each individual's needs so that everyone feels empowered, energised and excited to put what they have learnt into practice.
How Our Sales Management Training Works
Whether you are about to take on your first sales manager role or you are currently managing a team of experienced sales professionals, we can offer a learning solution that is relevant to your needs.
The process begins with a free no obligation consultation where we will identify your requirements, learn more about your culture and what success would look like if your team improved their sales skills. We will then prepare a bespoke proposal which we can then amend if necessary to ensure we have met all of your specific requirements.
vMany of our clients ask us to deliver training onsite or at a local venue of their choosing but if you prefer to come off site, we can offer facilities in our Oxfordshire offices which are designed to host workshops in a professional and comfortable environment.

Sales Management Training Course Outline: An Example
All our training is tailored specifically to you and considers the needs of your organisation and the needs of your people. Where possible, we endeavour to provide examples and scenarios which are relevant to your business and therefore, which your people can relate to.
However, we understand that when comparing learning providers, it is helpful to have a better understanding of their approach and what a typical sales management workshop might look like, and so we have put together the following as an example which we hope you will find useful.
Course Overview
-
In-person
-
Face-to-face via online real-people video training broken down into bite size sessions
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the training, participants will:
-
Have clarity on what it takes to be a successful salesperson, and the extent to which this can be taught
-
Distinguish between mentoring and coaching and when to use each style
-
Take away a coaching structure that can be used to coach salespeople
-
Practice using the coaching structure using live scenarios
-
Identify and overcoming the challenges of applying a coaching approach
-
Learn and apply the BCG matrix to plan sales activity
Course Structure:
This example is based on a one-day sales management training workshop. A typical sales management workshop would involve us immersing ourselves in your current sales management process prior to facilitation.
This ensures that the skills learned are practical and relate to participants individually as opposed to simply taking on generic theory.
Certification
If requested, we can offer certificates for our training.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this level of training course. It is suitable for anyone looking to improve their sales management skills, and because we tailor our approach to your specific needs, delegates could range from first-time managers through to established sales directors.
However, if you have a large number of delegates, you may prefer to create cohorts based on department or staff seniority level so that attendees feel more comfortable being open with discussing pain-points and challenges.
Resources:
After the workshop, we will send out resources that are specific to the needs of the audience. Typical examples include links to podcasts, TED talks, books etc.
When suitable, we also embed relevant TED talks into the workbooks that we provide which are all in an interactive PDF format.

Case Study:
“Thank you for the awesome training this week. I took so much away and have already scheduled my next coaching sessions where I look forward to implementing the learning with my team.”
We facilitated a sales management workshop for an Organisation in the recruitment industry. There was an existing culture in place of sales managers conducting regular reflective coaching conversations with their team, but it became evident that there was no consistency to this approach.
We were given permission to listen in on some recorded coaching sessions which enabled us to take a view on what was working well and how this process could be further improved and structured in a way that every member of the team had a consistent approach.
We then designed a bespoke workshop which enabled participants to hone their coaching skills and practice them using relevant and realistic scenarios.
