Advanced Train the Trainer
I originally attended a series of meetings with a large national bank in order to underpin their specific learning requirements and design an appropriate learning intervention to meet these needs.
The requirement was for a two day residential training course that would enable their in house trainers to progress towards an advanced level of facilitation design and delivery. This involved understanding the competencies required to achieve this level and design exercises to assess current ability, whilst challenging delegates to improve further. Typical topics included accelerated learning techniques, multiple intelligences, imaginative facilitation to incorporate Blooms Taxonomy, delivering effective feedback, and session design.
To date, the course has been delivered to approximately 180 delegates. Whilst the course has been very well received, the course has been improved further following delegate feedback and post course meetings with the bank. I was also responsible for upskilling another very experienced trainer to deliver this programme moving forward. I continue to be heavily involved with the ongoing delivery of this programme, which is now delivered on a quarterly basis.
Recruitment and Selection
I was approached to assist a large national Blue Chip Organisation with a recruitment and selection project. The Organisation is a multi-site Organisation and therefore wanted to ensure that each site conducted their recruitment and selection in a consistent and ethical manner, whilst adhering to FSA standards.
Having attended a series of meetings with the Organisation, I made some recommendations for further improvement to their excellent existing procedures, predominantly in line with questioning techniques. I then conducted a pilot course in a head office site with key recruitment stakeholders. The course incorporated employment legislation, methods of recruiting effectively, conducting competency based questions, drilling down to detail and managing the offer process.
The course was well received and I have since been responsible for delivering in excess of 30 courses across the UK. I have consistently achieved excellent feedback and have been regularly involved in updating the course in line with both Organisational and legal changes. The project is ongoing.
Management Certificate and Diploma
I was asked to take a lead trainer role on an associate basis with a large Blue Chip Organisation who wanted to put their managers from a vast array of disciplines through an accredited management development programme. Having ascertained the key learning requirements of the programme, I co-wrote and designed materials for both a nine month CMI Certificate and twelve month CMI Diploma programme. Each programme involves between eight and twelve days delivery.
Delegates learn a variety of techniques including Leadership versus Management, Management Styles, Delegation, Persuading and Influencing, Teamwork, Communication Techniques etc… Delegates also undertake a 360° feedback process and attend action learning sets in between each module.
I continue to be responsible for a significant amount of delivery and contribute to ongoing improvements.
